Being Active and Staying Healthy

There have been a couple of these studies indicating there is not a need to do 10,000 steps. Like this one here in the WSJ.

Where i think they get a little misleading is they seam to imply that you can get away with less. Really the take away should be is that if you are sedentary, any amount of activity is better than none. So if the idea of getting 10k steps is getting you down and preventing you from exercising, realize that any amount of exercise is better than none. Still 10k steps is even better if you can manage. Have a look at the graph in the article, once you hit 10k, the incremental benefit seems to drop off.
